A weekend of appliance shopping!

This last weekend John and I decided to take advantage of some President's Day sales! Saturday John was super sick, so we went out on Sunday. We made a couple stops, and landed at an appliance store with Allan, our hilarious salesman. Again, we got in the car, and shopped around a little more (HAD to get the best deal!) and ultimately came back. Decided on a GE stove and microwave. I kept walking around the store to make sure this is the one we (I) wanted :) They loaded them into the truck, we called Chuck over to help unload and here they are! We ended up finding a better deal on a dishwasher at Sears, and that is being picked up tonight. Last night John wired in the microwave :) I had a mini photoshoot with our "sexy" new appliances :)

*Took an embarassing number of pictures...don't judge.

Bye bye blue bathroom!

Saturday was the big day! John had brought home a bunch of neutral/white paint from work, and we decided to soften the bathroom! I started with removing hardware, sanded the walls, and painted. It's definately NOT perfect, but it was a huge help! While I was painting, John was working on the spare room. I believe the goal is to get it done, and move in this weekend (so he can start working on the master).

 Ahh! White!

With the while walls, the imperfections in the wall almost seem highlighted. All temporary...
Here is the spare room. Dry wall up, and mudding started. Gave John some issues...one of the beams in the wall is belled out. Once he would drill in, you could literally hear the drywall pushing away from the beam. Thus, all the screws...
With this, John redid all of the electrical work in the spare room. We have three new outlets :)

Back to the bathroom for a second coat...
 and finally dry!

With the white walls the tub, sink, and toilet look SO BLUE (must have been muted before). So for the time being, we are embrassing it :)
This room is so much brighter! And with the natural light, it lights up itself
kept this as a reminder of where we came from :) once the door is finished being framed in we will paint it
blue blue blue...
This hole was covered from the day we moved in (with bright blue painters tape, and a transparent green binder divider?) we are assuming it was a toilet paper roll holder...perfect size.
