Kitchen Floor Update

 We are not ready to put in new floors, so for the time being John is sanding the current floors, coating them with a polyurethane sealant/stain. They turned out pretty good! We will do this throughout the top floor and add hardwood flooring down the road.

 

This is the test patch...so much better than the red!

 

Island/Bar Lights

John taped the floor (because I am very visual) so we can see where the island will go. I came home from work one day to see the wall was put in!

 John is putting in two outlets in the island-so this can be a prep area.

 Love these bar lights! We were concerned they might look off since our ceilings are low, but they turned out good! (I may have asked if we should switch to track lights...after these were wired in...)

Hallway Lights/switches

John got fancy and put in a two-way switch for the hallway so we can hit the lights from the main kitchen spot and from outside the master bedroom. Much more convenient then running up and down the hallway!

 Beautiful matching can lights in the hall :)

Kitchen Ceiling....Part 2

Kitchen ceiling-part 2! Now that John had the time (and energy) to clean up the mess that happened during the leak, he was able to tackle this project. The old ceiling came down (along with some old friends...) and new insulation and sheet rock went up. While John was doing this he added the lights to hang over the new island :)

 

 Notice the new paint color??? John is painting as he goes
